Advantages of Adopting Puppies from us!

Adopting a rescue puppy from The Puppy Rescue of Sugarcreek offers numerous benefits beyond simply getting a pet. You’re saving a life, preventing overpopulation, and supporting an animal welfare organization. Rescue puppies can come with established personalities, and health assessments, and adoption fees are always lower than buying a puppy from a breeder.

Here’s a more detailed look at the advantages:
  • Saving a Life:

Rescue dogs are often in need, and adoption provides them with a loving home and a second chance.

  • Fighting Overpopulation:

Adopting helps reduce the number of animals in shelters and discourages irresponsible breeding practices.

  • Supporting Animal Welfare:

Adoption fees support our organization that provides care, medical attention, and resources for animals in need.

  • Lower Adoption Costs:

Adoption fees are generally lower than the price of purchasing a puppy from a breeder.

  • Established Personalities and Behavior:

Rescues often know the temperament and behavior of dogs in their care, allowing for a better match between the dog and the adopter.

  • Potentially Trained Dogs:

Some rescue dogs may already have basic training and be house-trained.

  • Variety of Temperaments and Mixes:

Rescue puppies often come from mixed breeds, meaning a wider range of personalities and temperaments.

  • Health Benefits:

Some rescue organizations guarantee the health of their dogs and provide necessary vaccinations and spay/neuter services before adoption.

  • Reduced Demand for Puppy Mills:

Adopting from a rescue can help reduce the demand for puppies from puppy mills, where animals are often treated cruelly.

  • Unconditional Love and Companionship:
A rescue dog can provide unwavering love and companionship to their new family.

A Little About Our Breeds Here At Hillside Forever Paws

Hillside Forever Paws, Cavalier, French Bulldog Puppies, Breeds

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Cavaliers are the best of two worlds, combining the attentiveness of a toy breed with the nerve and athleticism of a sporting Spaniel. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is the decedent of a small toy spaniel depicted in many 16th, 17th, and 18th-century paintings of Northern Europe. They were originally bred to warm laps in drafty castles and on chilly carriage rides. Cavaliers usually weigh between 13 and 26 lbs. Their coat is medium length super silky, and doesn’t have any curl though sometimes a slight waviness is possible. The Cavalier is known for being incredibly affectionate, sociable, happy-go-lucky, and eager to please. They are great family dogs and are wonderful with young children. This dog is one of the friendliest dogs you’ll ever meet. The Cavalier’s all-around beauty, regal grace, and ever-temper mark them as one of the dogdom’s noblemen.

The French Bulldog

French Bulldogs are friendly, small dogs that were bred for companionship. While their story is a little unexpected, it did not take long for their popularity to spread across Europe and America. Their coats are short, fine, and smooth with loose wrinkles around the head and shoulders. Female Frenchies usually weigh anywhere between 17 to 25 lbs. The males can then go up to as much as 32 lbs. They are pretty low maintenance when it comes to grooming because of their short, smooth coats. The French Bulldog is a friendly dog who loves giving and receiving affection. They are friendly-oriented so they are a great choice for a house with young children. These dogs are a good fit for a small home or apartment as they do not require a large amount of exercise. The French Bulldog is a very remarkable, beautiful, and unique dog!

Puppy Adoption Process

What is your adoption process at The Puppy Rescue of Sugarcreek?

We make it as simple as possible to adopt one of our Rescue Pups/Adult Dogs.

We view adoption from our Rescue the same as a marriage covenant. If you agree to take care of your adopted puppy until death do you part, then you’re the kind of person we want adopting from us. You will agree to provide Veterinary care whenever your puppy needs it. You will agree to spay/neuter your puppy when it is the age your Veterinarian recommends. (We don’t want these dogs bred, we want to stop the overbreeding problem.) You will take care of the puppy and spoil them
on a daily basis. You will register your pup’s microchip when you bring it home. All of our pups are microchipped. You understand that we provide you all of the information we have regarding a pup’s health or background. We don’t always know very much and it is possible that some information we are given is incorrect. You will NOT return this puppy
to us. Please be sure that one of our pups is a good fit for you and your family BEFORE you decide to adopt.
